Spectrum aims to run a residential weekend trip at least once every 2 years. This weekend away provides an opportunity for the children to experience new activities, challenge themselves and most importantly of all have fun. The time away is also a valuable respite for parents and families.
The past 2 residential trips have taken place at Hindleap Warren, an Outdoor Education Centre set in 300 acres of Woodland in the Ashdown forest. The children are split into groups and participate in numerous exciting activities during their time at the centre such as: rock climbing, archery, canoeing, swimming and bush craft. Spectrum also runs its own group activities during the holiday such as sing-song and arts & crafts. The professionals at the centre are experienced and friendly and ensure that children of all abilities get the most out of their time there.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of children on the holiday is of paramount importance. Children are with their Spectrum volunteers at all times and we also aim to have at least one fully qualified doctor (an ex-Spectrum member) present on the holiday as well.
Like all other aspects of Spectrum, the holiday is free, with all the fees covered by funds raised by Spectrum. If you feel you would like to donate towards the holiday then please see our Support Us page.
